1. CS450 is a CNC Cutter Sharpener designed for sharpening the Gleason cutters. Which are used for cutting the spiral bevel gears and hypoid gears.
2. The machine is designed to operate as a four-axis CNC control bevel gear cutter sharpener, i.e. the reciprocating motion of the work head (X axis), the indexing motion of the workpiece (B axis), the back and forth movement of the column (Y axis) and the up and down movement of the grinding wheel bracket (on the column) (Z axis).
3. The arrangement of machine is a T type with high rigidity. The work head is mounted on the front guides, which is for indexing and reciprocating right and left on the guides, while the column is mounted on the back guides, which makes the grinding wheel bracket being moved forward and backward. The grinding wheel bracket can also be upward and downward on the column.
4. The grinding wheel is of CBN and when grinding the cutter, the plunge method is used with a high efficiency.
5. Main spindle of grinding wheel is driven by a frequency variable motor, the maximum velocity of rotation is 3000rpm, when grinding wheel of 300mm is used, the linear velocity can reach 30-47 meters per second.
6. The cutter on the work head will be fixed by hand.
7. The ball screws with high rigidity are adopted for driving X, Y & Z axes, and all guides use the linear rolling guideway structure.
8. The machine is designed mainly for sharpening the cutters with diameters of 6", 9", 12" and 18’’ and the diameters of taper hole at large end of 58.221mm, 126.966mm & 215.8mm.
9. The machine is equipped with CNC control system SIEMENS 828D and a servo system.
10. An enclosure, which is safe, good-looking and functional, is provided for the machine.
11. A sealed electrical cabinet with air-conditioner is provided for the machine.
